INSTALL / UPDATE
1. On your Android phone, open the official release, expand Assets and download the APK.
2. Open it from your browser's Downloads or My Files > Downloads.
3. If you choose to permit installation from this browser/file app, allow only that source for this install, then turn the permission off afterwards.
4. Install over an existing Pract Beta; DO NOT uninstall or clear data first. No USB or payment to Pract is required.
5. If the system specifically identifies malware, stop and report the exact warning. Do not disable Play Protect, Samsung security features or device-wide security. Generic download/unknown-source warnings may still occur. Managed/work devices may block installation.

MIGRATE WORDS FROM THE OLDER PRACT DEVELOPMENT APP
The apps have separate storage. In Pract, export Words as CSV. In Pract Beta, open Words > Import words · CSV, choose that file, review counts and confirm. Existing matching words retain their meanings. Keep the original app and CSV until you check the result. This transfers vocabulary only, not PDFs, positions, reading statistics or AI settings.

AI SETUP / ELIGIBILITY
Use your own Gemini key; never borrow the developer's or share yours in feedback. This free-key beta is for adults (18+) in Google's supported regions outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, where current provider terms require paid services. Review current terms and availability first:

1. Open https://aistudio.google.com/ with your own Google account and review the terms.
2. Use a free-tier project and verify billing is disabled if you want no paid API usage. Pract cannot enforce billing settings or verify your quota.
3. Create a key. Open AI settings in Pract Beta and paste only the key.
4. Read and confirm the privacy/eligibility explanation only if it applies to you.
5. Add a selectable-text PDF and hold an unfamiliar word. Extend the handles for a short phrase if useful.

Selected text and up to 500 nearby characters go to Google for a lookup; the whole PDF is not uploaded. Google may use free-tier inputs/outputs to improve its products. Do not use confidential documents. Answers can be wrong and free quotas can run out.

DATA / FEEDBACK
Vocabulary, reading time and PDF references are local. Saved meanings reopen offline. Export Words before uninstalling or clearing data. Removing a book from Pract does not delete the original PDF. No automatic cloud backup or full-app restore is included.
Try one word/phrase lookup, continue reading, and tell us what interrupted the flow. Setup blockers are useful feedback too. If you return for another session, we'd like to hear that.

Never attach API keys, private PDFs or unredacted screenshots. Feedback is voluntary; there are no hidden analytics in this build.
